Damian Hempstead, born in Sydney, Australia, of British and Italian heritage, is an actor, singer, dancer, musician and model.

He made his stage debut at 8 years old as Oliver in Neil Gooding’s Musical Oliver (2012) alongside multi-award winner Wayne Scott Kermond, and also appeared alongside Lisa McCune and Teddy Tahu Rhodes, as Louis Leonowens in Opera Australia’s The King and I (2014).

At age 14 Damian made his television debut in SBS’s crime drama series Deep Water (2016) alongside Yael Stone and Noah Taylor. He has also appeared in several TV commercials and independent short films, the two most notable, The Paper Rose and Pepper (Sydney 2019 Indie Film Festival Award Winner). Both films have been well received and officially selected in Film Festivals nationally and internationally. In 2020 Damian received the Nomination for both OnStage and Encore for his Drama and Music performances.

Damian has completed several acting and musical theatre masterclasses with Larry Moss, Howard Fine, Thea McLeod, Queenie van de Zandt and Simon Burke and has regular coaching sessions at Screenwise, Sydney, with award winning director Ben Mathews.

Damian has working rights in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the UK, making him easily employable in almost any country.
