About
Samuel Barbas is an Australian-based actor, director, and writer. He is best known for the development of the Australian feature "Natalie Was A Friend Of Mine".
Born in Perth, Western Australia, to Greek parents, Samuel transitioned from a background in professional football (soccer) and civil engineering to study acting at a West Australian acting school, driven by his love of films and all things screen.
Praise for Samuel's previous roles cites him as a "vulnerable," "visceral," and "raw" performer who has the ability to "authentically bring himself to everything he does."
Recently in 2024, he was a finalist for the Atlantic Acting School Scholarship. In 2023, he was named a finalist for the Carmen Duncan Scholarship. In 2021, he was a finalist for Equity's Home and Away Graduate Internship by Mullinars Casting.
Samuel has worked with Australian directors Kim Farrant, Ben Matthews, Sian Davies, Ross McGregor, and Peter Andrikidis.
He is currently working with acting coaches and mentors Michael Sheasby (The Nightingale), Maeve Dermody (Beautiful Kate), and Kim Farrant (Strangerland).
